MOVING DAY AT THE BAKERS!

Our last night in the bricks & sticks!
Yikes! In less than 24 hours we will officially be Fulltime RVers! This is our last night in the home we have loved so much. All of the furniture is gone, most of the rest of our stuff is heading in many directions... Freecycle, Auction, Sold to friends, or just donated!  A few little boxes of those things that one just can't find a way to give away (six very small boxes) have gone to the unfinished basement of our friends, Monica & Keith Gosling. This has been an unbelievable process.  We keep telling Sarah how lucky she is that we are not leaving a house full of stuff for her to sort out someday!  I must confess that at the 11th hour we opted to rent a U-Haul and throw everything we didn't know what to do with in it to sort out from a storage unit between now and when we leave, August 1st! It took a bit of pressure off us and left an opening for a Gin & Tonic! Most of it won't go with us, but we need to take one more pass on it's way to the next life!

If we weren't so excited we would be bouncing off the walls, but tonight we are flat out busted. With a few hours of sleep we should be ready to finish up in the morning and turn our home over to it's lovely new owner, Gail. We hope that she will have as many happy years here as we have. Stay tuned for an update when we recover from the move!

  1. It's a bittwersweet feeling I am sure! It's got to be hard to part with your home and all of your "stuff" but then what a FREEDOM feeling it must be as well! I am excited for you as you embark on this new adventurous chapter of your lives and I am so excited to be on your travel map of places to visit! See you in August...can hardly wait! Safe and happy trails to you both!
    Love,
    Tracy :-)

  2. I am so excited for you guys. I occasionally look around our house and say what can we get rid of in preparation for our move to the RV and that is still 4 years away. Every time we go to buy something we ask ourselves do we need this and will we be able to sell it in 4 years.

I can't wait to see you guys this winter.

    Good luck!
